Dimitris was born in 1966 in Tripoli, Libya, to Greek parents. He spent his first seven years in Rome prior to moving to Greece, where he received a BSc in Geology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During his studies he illustrated various scientific publications in palaeontology. Between 1992 and 1997 he collaborated with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture as an illustrator; his job was to document and illustrate antiquities discovered during excavations for the construction of the Athens Metro (subway). From 1997 todate he has been working as a free lance professional illustrator for design studios, publishers and advertising agencies. During that period he has also designed illustrations for two museums; one on Papigo (WWF) and one on the island of Tinos (Marblecraft Museum). He is also a member of the Parachute Font design team and a regular contributor for Yalos Branding. His latest artistic explorations have led to the co-founding of Fuzzylon
Since 2003 he has successfully focused on illustrating mainly children’s books. He already has numerous publications in Greece in this field (nine so far, with a number of further publications pending). Since 2010, Dimitri has been living on the beautiful island of Hydra, where he teaches art and works on his first major exhibition as a painter, when not illustrating.
